What is a Payment Method?

A payment method is a verified bank account or crypto wallet added to a customer’s or counterparty’s profile on Conduit. Think of it as registering:
  1. Your funding source (where money comes from)
  2. Your destination account (where money goes to)

Why add a payment method?

Before you can send or receive payments on Conduit, you need to add a payment method. Adding payment methods enables you to:
  • Send payments from bank accounts or crypto wallets
  • Receive payments to your designated accounts
  • Convert currencies between fiat and crypto (onramp/offramp transactions)
Payment methods can be either:
  • Bank accounts for fiat currency (USD, BRL, MXN, EUR, etc.)
  • Crypto wallets for digital assets (USDC, USDT, etc.)

What you’ll need

Gather the following information before beginning: For Bank Accounts:
  • Account Holder Name
  • Bank Name
  • Account Number
  • Routing Information
  • Account Type (checking, savings, business)
  • Currency (USD, BRL, MXN, EUR, etc.)
For Crypto Wallets:
  • Wallet Address
  • Blockchain Network (Ethereum, Tron, Polygon, etc.)
  • Asset Type (USDC, USDT, etc.)

Supported currencies (by bank country)

This section outlines which currencies Conduit supports based on the bank’s country.

Bank payment rails and required fields (by currency and country)

This table outlines the available bank payment rails by currency and country, along with the required fields for each. In cases where a local rail isn’t supported, Conduit defaults to using SWIFT for international USD or EUR payouts. Each rail has specific field requirements that must be met for the payment to be successfully processed.
